awakenings

I've just been on a last-minute trip to Australia to see my family, dictated by a natural work lull and surprisingly cheap flights. Getting back to the cold was always going to be a shock, although it seems like spring is just beginning to get into gear... I definitely needed this after experiencing two weeks in southern hemisphere summer!
spot the difference

Although I was on the other side of the world, these trees brought me back to Cornwall, particularly the Helford, with its subtropical vibes and similarly precariously situated trees.
spring?

Things are waking up.
Every morning walk I'm pausing and noticing the little things, as it's important to stay curious during this time. I'm noticing the light over Falmouth Bay. For some cosmic reason unknown to me, sunrises disappear behind the headland during winter. As you can see from the picture, it is now rising out of the sea.
It's good to see it back.
I'm also noticing the rough seas and the brave brown seaweeds that seem to be growing despite the tempestuous weather. I'm appreciating these things and thinking about how I can translate this into my work.
I'm letting this spring be a reminder to slow down, notice the world around me, and find inspiration in the simplest moments.
